After submission, the city has 15 days to approve or deny our proposal for the qualification process.

Raise funds

Aug 2019 – April 2020

Donations will pay for printing our signature pages and for some paid signature-gatherers. According to other cities experienced with this, fundraising is necessary for a successful campaign.

Oct 2019 – April 2020

Under state law, we have 180 days to collect our signatures. We will canvass the city door-to-door and gather signatures from residents at popular locations and events.

April 2020

Our goal is to submit 15,000 total signatures to ensure that we end up with at least 6,500 qualified signatures.

November 2020

If we follow these steps, our rent stabilization and tenant protection ordinance will appear as a city measure on the November 2020 ballot.
